Today 07/13/2020, a civil suit against the following defendants commenced IN THE UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT FOR THE DISTRICT OF MARYLAND
1. OromiaMedia Network (OMN)
2. PrincipalOfficer: Taddele M. Kitaba (in his OMN official capacity); AND
3. Ayantu Bekecho, in her personal capacity(individually);
The defendants, in this case, have violated 18 U.S.Code § 956, 18 U.S. Code § 878, and 26 USC Code § 501 (c). Each of these statutes provides an independent basis for entering the requested preliminary injunction. The OMN is served this lawsuit 5minutes ago through its email. This Posting is to let the defendants know that a lawsuit against them filed and to let them know to contact me to get the documents filed in court. Because EMERGENCY MOTION FOR A PRELIMINARY INJUNCTION OR Temporary Restraining Order is filed, the defendants have the legal right to present their defense. This posting is required by the district court as part of the legal process to get the documents to the defendants as soon as possible since the defendants are residents of the State of Minnesota.
The lawsuit in part indicates: “Pursuant to Rule 65 of the federal rules of Civil Procedure, Plaintiff Tibebe Samuel move for preliminary relief against Defendants OMN, Ayantu Bekecho, in her personal capacity, and Taddele M. Kitaba, (together, the “Defendants”), their agents, servants, employees, and attorneys, directing Defendants to stop and terminate their broadcasting services on TV, and all Social media platforms and deliveries of their message and services, mode of deliveries of their messages, fundraising activities and support services they provide to the Ethiopian community at large anywhere in the world, their direct broadcast and service to Ethiopia; and most of all to stop broadcasting any hateful messages, messages that call for the assassination of high government officials and well-known personalities in Ethiopia, the killing of any individual and any member of any ethnic group and the burning and destruction of properties in Ethiopia. In support thereof, the Plaintiff state as follows: ………”
