German goalkeeper decides to join Arsenal

Bayer Leverkusen goalkeeper Bernd Leno has decided that he wants to join Arsenal. According to The Mirror, Leno has snubbed interest from Italian side Napoli to close in on a switch to the Premier League.

The report claims that Leno is set to cost £22m after he made it clear to Leverkusen that he wanted to leave the club.


Arsenal were keen to replace Petr Cech this summer after a season of mishaps from the former Chelsea star.

Leno is now set to join and take over the number one shirt for Unai Emery next season at The Emirates.

The 26-year-old will be Arsenal’s second signing of the summer, joining Stephan Lichtsteiner.

Arsenal are also closing in on the signings of Sokratis and Lucas Torreira, with deals agreed for both players.

Despite narrowly missing out on a place in Germany’s squad for the World Cup this summer, Leno has been capped six times for his country.
